Share Christ’s Love with Victims of Hurricane Ian

While Hurricane Ian changed paths and the Tampa Bay area was spared direct impact, several areas of our diocese have experienced damage. Click here to donate online to the Diocese of St. Petersburg Disaster Relief Fund.

In times of crisis, many feel called to offer prayers and provide humanitarian and pastoral support to our brothers and sisters who experienced disaster. Click here to learn how you can help Catholic Charities of the Diocese of St. Petersburg.

By joining together, the people of our diocese have made a difference in the hardest hit areas around the world through donations to the Diocese of St. Petersburg Disaster Relief Fund. Because of past generosity, this Fund has provided relief to the victims of the following disasters:

  • $100,000 for tornado relief in the Diocese of Owensboro (2021)
  • $100,000 for Hurricane Ida Relief in the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux, Louisiana (2021)
  • $75,000 for Hurricane Grace Relief in the Dioceses of Jeremie, Les Cayes and Hinche, Haiti (2021)
  • $50,000 for Hurricane Laura Relief in the Diocese of Lake Charles, Louisiana (2020)
  • $50,000 for Hurricane Laura Relief in the Diocese of Beaumont, Texas (2020)
  • $100,000 for COVID-19 Relief in the Diocese of St. Petersburg (2019)
  • $250,000 for Hurricane Dorian Relief in the Archdiocese of Nassau, Bahamas (2019)
  • $300,000 for Hurricane Michael Relief in the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee (2018)
  • $155,000 for Hurricane Harvey Relief in Texas (2017)
  • $200,000 for Hurricane Maria Relief in Puerto Rico (2017)
  • $165,000 for Hurricane Irma Relief (2017)

Now it is time for us to join together for those within our five-county area, helping parishes and people in our home diocese as we did in 2019 for those affected by COVID-19 and in 2017 after Hurricane Irma. One hundred percent of the disaster relief funds will benefit people and the Church affected by natural disasters, including those impacted by Hurricane Ian in our own Diocese.

Please join us in offering prayers for those affected. We also ask you to please consider contributing to the Diocese of St. Petersburg Disaster Relief Fund, all of which will be used to provide aid for those affected by Hurricane Ian and other natural disasters, as determined by Bishop Parkes.

If you have any questions concerning your donation and which natural disaster will benefit during specific timeframes, please contact the diocesan Stewardship and Development Office at (727)344-1611.
